South Bay Early Intervention
Working Together to Help Children Grow

Welcome to Early Intervention
The first three years of a child's life are a time of profound physical, intellectual, language, social and emotional development. Early Intervention evaluates a child's functioning and identifies a child's strengths and needs to ensure infants, toddlers and families reach their full potential. Early Intervention targets children and families who are experiencing a variety of needs arising from a child's premature birth, feeding, vision, or hearing problems, behavior or attention difficulties, disability, health condition, developmental and environmental issues.

Early Intervention Services
Early Intervention services are family centered to meet the specific developmental needs of each child and their family. Services are available in homes, community settings, and South Bay Early Intervention sites located in Brockton, Fall River and Lowell. Depending on a child's needs, Early Intervention may include: developmental evaluations, parent and/or child groups, parent support and education, home visits, speech, physical and occupational therapy.

The Early Intervention Team
South Bay's transdisciplinary teams include educators, nurses, counselors, social workers, teaching assistants, and speech, physical, occupational and family therapists.
